Originally published from 1963-1982, Josie and the Pussycats is a teen-humor comic book published by Archies comic. This story about a fictional rock band was created by Dan DeCarlo the music band consisted of the lead singer cum guitarist Josie, tambourinist Valerie, and the blonde drummer Melody. Other characters included their manager Alexander, his shrewd sister Alexandra and her cat Sebastian. It was made into television and radio plays as well and went on to be the first on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1969.
